We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. Responsibilities
* Assist in meal preparation and food preparation tasks as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
* Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with serving as needed.
* Follow food safety guidelines to ensure that all meals are prepared in a safe and hygienic manner.
* Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods.
* Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
Skills
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment or restaurant setting is highly desirable.
* Basic cooking skills and knowledge of meal preparation techniques.
* Familiarity with food safety standards and practices.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
* Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively within a team.
