Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our busy Medical Illustration department as a deputy/senior medical photographer. You will be part of a team dedicated to providing specialised Clinical and Ophthalmic diagnostic photography services across the Northern Care Alliance hospitals, including Salford Royal Hospital, The Royal Oldham Hospital, Fairfield General Hospital, and Rochdale Infirmary. Ophthalmic services are also delivered at Oldham ICC. Medical Illustration additionally supports tissue viability, vascular, and podiatry clinical photography across the organisation.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate should hold a BSc in Clinical Photography, possess relevant expertise and experience, including supervisory or team leader roles, and have specialist knowledge in clinical and ophthalmic photography. Video editing skills are preferred. The role requires working across all sites to meet organisational needs.
You will manage the daily operations of the clinical photography team, comprising four Band 5 photographers, and report to the Medical Illustration Manager. You will also deputise for the manager when needed.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to empower team members and support the Medical Illustration Manager in delivering a professional, efficient imaging service trust-wide.

Qualifications
* Essential: Recent supervisory/team leader/management experience; specialist knowledge in diagnostic retinal photography with at least 3 years' experience; full UK driving license and use of a car

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Essential: Extensive digital photography/imaging experience, including file conversion and manipulation; retinal imaging expertise; strong communication skills; proficient in Adobe, Microsoft, Apple systems, and digital editing; knowledge of clinical governance, data protection, Caldicott principles, consent, and copyright
* Desirable: Experience with video editing (Final Cut Pro or similar); knowledge of colour calibration and desktop printing
