Salary: NJC Scale 4, 5, 6 or SO1 SCP7 - SCP25 £25,584 - £35,235 per annum

The Place
Fylde is an attractive, vibrant borough located on Lancashire’s coast to the south of the world-famous resort of Blackpool.It is based around the seaside resorts of Lytham and St Annes, but with bustling market towns like Kirkham nestling in a pleasant rural landscape.

The Role
We are offering a key role within the Planning Service to help maintain and enhance the quality and vibrancy of the Borough:
As a Planning Officer in our busy and committed development management team, the successful candidate will play a key role in the team responsible for the processing of planning applications, appeals, pre-application enquiries, and all other planning matters.Your caseload of applications will be both interesting and varied as the borough features scenic rural countryside and coastline, a vibrant night-time and shopping economy, multiple conservation areas, and expanding employment areas. With a recently adopted Local Plan and a healthy supply of housing the Council’s focus is firmly on ensuring that the development of Fylde is to an exceptional standard so that it becomes an even better place to live, work and visit.
The Person
We are looking for a talented individual with a passion for shaping places that will help us deliver high quality developments throughout the borough. The nature of the role means that excellent communication and negotiation skills are a must. Whether it be working with elected members, or discussing issues with neighbours, you'll need confidence and the passion to help make our service the very best.
The starting salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience, with knowledge of the legislation, guidance and operation of the planning system as it applies to the development management functions of a local planning authority an advantage.
