Overview
As a Management Accountant, you will develop and manage monthly management accounts, providing critical financial insights. Your responsibilities include ensuring accurate invoicing and billing to support cash flow, overseeing supplier invoicing via electronic recognition software, and documenting internal processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency. You should be adaptable and proactive in a small team environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly management accounts, including schedules and KPIs.
* Manage the month-end process to deliver timely, accurate reports for senior management and the Board.
* Handle prepayments and accruals monthly.
* Oversee invoice recognition software (Icompleat) for accurate coding and distribution.
* Maintain purchase ledger controls for account accuracy.
* Update financial reporting, including balance sheets, cash flow, volume data, and new contracts.
* Support cost allocation methods for contracts, such as stock and expense allocation.
* Perform ad-hoc tasks as needed, supporting a team of three.
Required Qualifications
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification or part qualification.
* Healthcare experience preferred.
* Experience in sales ledger, purchase ledger, asset funding, and general accounting.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in a busy environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in healthcare settings.
* Familiarity with Sage accounting software.
* Self-motivated with initiative.
* Proven process improvement skills with measurable outcomes.
What We Offer
* Salary: £50,000 per annum
* Full-time, permanent role (37.5 hours/week)
* Location: Birmingham, Edgbaston
* Work pattern: Hybrid
* 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
This role requires a successful DBS check (paid by us) and proof of right to work.
