Pay Rate: £12.60 per hour
Contract Type: Permanent, average 42 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off nights (19:00–07:00)
Role Overview
Mitie has an excellent opportunity for Security Officers to join our Total Security Management Team based at the Wilmslow Campus. The successful candidates will provide a high‑quality security service, ensuring the safety and security of the site, staff, visitors, and assets during night operations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Conduct external patrols every hour and as required.
2. Perform gatehouse duties, visitor checks, access control and safety checks when needed.
3. Use the mobile app confidently and follow the operational requirements of the role.
4. Record all incidents, concerns, and daily activities accurately on the online portal.
5. Report all issues immediately to the client and the Account Manager.
6. Maintain excellent timekeeping, ensuring prompt arrival for shift handovers.
7. Remain vigilant at all times; report and record suspicious or potential criminal activity and maintain control until emergency services arrive.
8. Demonstrate a professional, determined, trustworthy, attentive, and approachable character when dealing with employees, visitors, and customers.
9. Act as the first point of contact, maintaining strong geographical awareness of the local area.
10. Report directly to the Security Manager and ensure all incidents are recorded, reported, and escalated appropriately.
Qualifications & Person Specification
11. Valid SIA Licence – Essential
12. 5‑year vetted work history required prior to starting
13. Must be able to work nights and weekends
14. Must submit a CV with an up‑to‑date 5‑year employment history
15. Strong team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
16. Able to work independently and use own initiative
17. Flexible approach to meet business needs
18. Excellent customer service skills
19. Ability to use an online portal and basic IT equipment
20. Strong written and verbal communication skills
21. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
