Senior Mechanical Engineer

Elevate Everywhere is a consultancy and heat network operator delivering a system-based approach comprising Analyse (Sustainability), Design (MEP) and Evolve (Heat Networks), working within a clear framework of leadership, intelligence, design based on principles, inclusion, wellbeing, and regeneration.

Our dynamic and forward-thinking team is passionate about making a positive impact on the world, and we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to help bring Elevate’s vision to life.


Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to be part of a growing team and business to help us to build on our strong foundations and grow the business in a sensible pragmatic way in response to the needs of our clients and society.

The role involves overseeing all aspects of day-to-day project delivery and mechanical design. Project leadership will include delivery of mechanical and public health design while working closely with the internal team, our clients and wider external stakeholders to deliver and ensure successful outcomes. You will be fully supported by an experienced senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as mechanical lead and project manager of challenging and complex projects and collaborate with the wider engineering team to deliver these projects.
* Support projects being managed/delivered by the wider team, ensuring delivery of our clients brief and achieve successful outcomes.
* Contribute to the commercial management of projects in terms of financial, programme, design and risk management. Report directly to a member of the senior leadership team.
* Contribute to technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Support the team in identifying training and development needs.
* Conduct feasibility studies and surveys, deliver design reviews and produce reports, specifications and drawing packages whilst consistently ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, best practices and the agreed brief.
* Develop technical specifications, schematics, and documentation.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes which achieve the right balance of managing client expectations, design, cost and risk whilst sticking to our primary objective of achieving positive change.
* Exhibit and promote an inclusive mindset in performing consultant responsibilities and in the support of colleagues throughout Elevate and externally.
* Assist in pursuing business development and bidding opportunities under the direction and support of senior leadership.


Qualifications

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Other relevant experience would be considered.
* 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and development.
* In-depth knowledge of District Heating standards and regulations, and experience in designing District Heating systems.
* Excellent communication abilities, with experience of dealing with clients directly.
* Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, with a commitment to being at the leading edge and delivering quality.
