IT Support Engineer (Field Based)
Start: ASAP - Up to 1 year
Location: Field-based role covering Aldershot, Highwycombe, Portsmouth and surrounding spoke sites
(Being based near Aldershot is helpful for travel)
Rates: £18.87/hr via Umb
Requirement: Full UK manual driving licence
Clearance: Must be eligible and willing to go through Security Check(SC) Clearance
About the Role
We are looking for an IT Support Engineer (Field Based) to join our team. This is a mobile role where you’ll travel between several nearby sites to support users with equipment, simple technical tasks, and ticket updates.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys structured work, clear processes, and a supportive environment. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
You will be carrying out a mix of practical and administrative tasks:
Main duties
* Hand out peripherals and end-user devices (approx. 75%)
* Manage and update support tickets (approx. 20%)
* Basic break/fix engineering (approx. 5% — helpful but not essential)
Additional responsibilities
* Return equipment following a clear returns process
* Work towards shared team goals (e.g., customer satisfaction, SLA targets)
* Build professional and friendly relationships with users
* Ask for help or escalate issues when needed—support is always available
* Join team meetings and calls with advance notice
* Follow defined procedures provided by your team lead
What we are Looking For
* Previous IT Support experience in a similar role
* Clear and reliable communication
* Ability to travel between sites using a manual vehicle
* Comfortable following structured processes
* Willingness to complete SC Clearance later in the role
