Job role : Sous Chef

Salary : £40,000 per year
Shift Pattern : Monday-Friday
Houston & Hawkes are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and experienced Sous Chef who produce outstanding food using the finest and freshest ingredients at this highly prestigious contract in heart of London.
This is a great opportunity for a Sous Chef with hospitality experience as the site is very busy with hospitality services.
Sous Chef Duties:
1. To manage the kitchen in the absence of the head chef
2. Setting up the kitchen and ensuring all ingredients are fresh and in date
3. Preparing ingredients, designing seasonal menu items, controlling and directing the food preparation process
4. Ensure the presentation of the food is consistent with the standards set by head chef
5. Focusing on all customers including guests, staff and visitors & meeting dietary and allergen requirements whilst ensuring quality of food and service
6. Demonstrate Personal Development.
Sous Chef Requirements:
7. Proven experience in contract catering, 5* hotel or fine dining restaurant
8. A genuine passion for food
9. Industry acumen and knowledge of external catering developments & innovations
10. Ability to work efficiently and competently under pressure
11. Excellent time management and organisational skills
12. High level of self-motivation and not constrained by conventional time keeping
13. 706/2 or NVQ chef qualifications, or equivalent
14. Honesty, transparency and consistency, someone who can gain and hold the respect of other
15. Personal innovation and passion
16. Demonstrative customer focus and service skills
17. Computer literate
