Maintenance Person – Property & Care Homes (Company Vehicle Provided)\n\nLocation: Gloucestershire (travel required across sites)\nSalary: £27,000 – £33,000 (dependent on experience) + Company Vehicle + Benefits\nContract: Full-Time, Permanent\n\nAbout the Role\n\nWe are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Person to join our client, covering a range of properties including houses, flats, and care homes across Gloucestershire.\n\nThis is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with experience in property maintenance and a broad skill set including fire door maintenance, painting & decorating, basic plumbing, and PAT testing. You will be provided with a company vehicle for travel between sites.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks across residential and care home properties.\n\n * Inspect, adjust, and maintain fire doors to meet fire safety standards (BS 8214:2016).\n\n * Perform painting and decorating, including surface preparation and finishing.\n\n * Undertake basic plumbing repairs (e.g., leaks, tap replacements, unblocking drains).\n\n * Conduct Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) (if certified) to ensure compliance with safety standards.\n\n * Identify and report major repair needs or hazards.\n\n * Maintain accurate records of work completed.\n\n * Ensure health & safety compliance at all times, especially in care environments.\n\nRequirements (Experience & Qualifications)\n\n * Proven experience in property or facilities maintenance.\n\n * Knowledge of fire door regulations and safety standards.\n\n * Experience in painting, decorating, and basic plumbing tasks.\n\n * PAT Testing Certification (or willingness to undertake training).\n\n * Valid UK driving licence (essential).\n\n * DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).\n\nDesirable (but not essential):\n\n * NVQ/City & Guilds in a relevant trade (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, painting & decorating).\n\n * Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) certification.\n\n * Asbestos awareness training (UKATA).\n\n * First Aid certification (advantageous).\n\nBenefits:\n\n * Salary: £27,000 – £33,000 per year (dependent on experience).\n\n * Company vehicle and fuel card for work-related travel.\n\n * Uniform, tools, and PPE provided.\n\n * Ongoing training and development opportunities (including PAT Testing & Fire Door Training).\n\n * Supportive team environment with opportunities for progression
