Job Description:
A great opportunity for a Non-Metallic Materials and Processes Engineer to work within our Non-Metallic Materials and Processes team at our Helicopter Division, based in Yeovil. Working as Materials Engineer you will be contributing to our success by providing crucial support to our business functions (Engineering, Customer Support, Production Plants & Quality) and Suppliers & Customers. You will be working within a cross geographic laboratory function, with direct colleagues in Italy and collaborators in Poland and Switzerland. If you have either experience or an interest in aerospace materials, with the ability to draft technical proposals, reports and specifications, perform experimental activities and provide subject matter expertise, then we would love to hear from you. This role does demand an onsite presence.
Metallic Materials & Processes Engineer
Perform experimental activity such as mechanical, chemical and process tests
Creating technical reports, test proposals and specifications
Test and develop existing and new processes
Degree or apprenticeship in relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Material Science, Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent experience
Knowledge of Non-metallic materials and processes
Ability to draft technical proposals, reports and specifications
Proactive approach
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Logical approach to problem solving
Ability to work in multi-functional and multi-cultural team environments
Aerospace experience is desirable
