We are looking for a Site Based Planning Manager to join our Infrastructure team in Cambridge.
You’ll:
1. Develop the planning approach for a project taking into account both our customers and Skanska’s planning requirements. This approach should focus on how the planning team deliver a positive impact for the project.
2. Lead and develop the project planning team.
3. Establish the project level collaborative planning approach to drive engagement of the whole project team with the programme. This will include the presentation of programme information in numerous ways – time chainage, 4D, short term planning, phasing diagrams, etc.
4. Interrogate the programme and identify areas for improvements, risk reduction and potential issues across the whole project. Use this detailed understanding of the programme to deliver strategic planning decisions.
5. Work with project controls team to develop planning reporting for the project. This reporting should be adaptable and be able to be interrogated by different members of the project team maximising automation to focus planners time on value added tasks.
We’re looking for:
6. Significant planning experience with a Tier 1 infrastructure contractor. Experience of various methods of planning and planning software.
7. Understanding of the construction market, all stages of a project, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements.
8. Technical knowledge of construction techniques, principles and best practices probably developed through both formal education (degree / HNC/HNC in Civil Engineering / Construction) and practical experience (site management with an infrastructure contractor).
9. Understanding of the impacts of various forms of contract on time and how to manage that within the programme.
