The Fracture clinic is looking for an enthusiastic hardworking individual who can bring passion and willingness to learn whilst demonstrating the Trust values of care, quality commitment and the ability to work as a team player. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and develop new skills in a challenging and fast paced Outpatient Clinic environment. The role requires flexible working and will include assisting the consultants in clinic, preparing and checking patient records, learning how to apply braces and various splints. It will also involve working in reception answering telephones, liaising with the multi- disciplinary team and supporting a Paediatric outpatient clinic on a rotational monthly basis.

Responsibilities
1. Participate in the deliveryofpatient care, following agreed plans, policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines, carrying out tasks and activities relevant for the job role/placeofwork
2. Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team/agencies to ensure that patient needs aremet
3. Involve patients, relatives/carers in the deliveryofcare, providing reassurance and support to assist their understanding andco-operation
4. Prepare the clinical area for safe practice by ensuring that cleanliness is maintained, materials and equipment are ready foruse,including clearingawayafterwards
5. Provide escort and transfer for patients with low dependency as directed by the multidisciplinaryteam
6. Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergencysituations
7. Provide routine information to enable the effectiveness of care to be evaluated and records maintained
8. Contribute to the recording and storing of information, ensuring it is securely held, accurate, complete and legible and can be retrieved promptly whenrequired
9. Promote the individual needs of the patient, by acknowledging preferences, rights and choices, respecting privacy and dignity, and by promoting anti-discriminatory practice, alerting senior staff if patient care appears to be disrespectfulordiscriminatory
10. Establish and maintain effective communication, maintaining confidentialityofinformation
11. Contribute to the effective managementofrisk, by accurate recording and reporting and correct maintenanceofrecords anddocumentation
12. Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures and clinical guidelines, alerting senior staff if practiceofselfand others appear to contravene policy, or if concerned about any aspect of patientcare
13. Contribute to the developmentofservices from the patients perspective, making suggestions for change and improvements, including taking part in patient and public involvement activities
14. Contribute to the effective and efficientuseof resources by ensuring that supplies are available, alerting seniorstaffwhensupplies are short, and by making suggestions to reduce waste
15. Promote, monitor and maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, reporting any concerns to seniorstaff
16. Take responsibility forownlearning by full participation in appraisal and clinical supervision, attending mandatory training, keeping knowledge and skills up to date
