Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to a high standard, ensuring their safety and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a variety of HGVs, including diagnostics, electrical, and mechanical work.
* Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
* Carry out pre-inspection checks and report any defects or issues.
* Work with the workshop manager to plan and prioritise tasks.
* Ensure all vehicles meet the required legal and safety standards.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
* Assist with breakdown repairs when needed.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as an HGV Fitter, Technician, or Mechanic.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds or NVQ in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance).
* Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
* Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Full UK driving license (Category C or C+E preferred).
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of work.
Desirable:
* Experience with a variety of HGV makes and models.
* Knowledge of MOT testing procedures.
* Previous experience in a similar role within a fleet maintenance environment.
