The Role: We are recruiting on behalf of a premium used car sales and service centre, based in Swindon, who are seeking an experienced Vehicle Assessor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and reputable automotive business that prides itself on quality, customer service, and a professional approach to retailing and maintaining high-standard used vehicles. As a Vehicle Assessor, you’ll be responsible for the collection, inspection, and appraisal of vehicles purchased for retail sale. The role requires UK-wide travel and full autonomy in managing your day-to-day - including organising transport to and from purchase locations, with the support of the management team. This is a varied, field-based position perfect for someone who thrives working independently, takes pride in accuracy, and enjoys building trusted relationships with sellers. Key Responsibilities Of A Vehicle Assessor: Travel across the UK to collect vehicles purchased for resale. Carry out full vehicle inspections and appraisals to ensure condition matches the agreed purchase details. Identify any damage or discrepancies not previously noted and renegotiate the purchase price where required. Liaise with customers in a professional, courteous manner to protect and maintain strong working relationships. Fully manage your own schedule and transport arrangements, with support from the management team. Ensure every vehicle meets company standards before being brought back to site. About You: A background in the motor trade is essential – ideally in used car buying, sales, or appraisal. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Highly self-motivated with excellent time management. Able to work independently and plan routes and travel efficiently. Detail-oriented with a solid understanding of vehicle quality and retail value. Full UK driving licence required. Package: Basic Salary: Up To £30,000 (Depending on Experience) Bonus Scheme: Available – discussed at interview Working Hours: Monday to Friday.
