About The Role

The role is based in our London office and is part of the broader Sustainability team. You will work alongside specialist engineers and consultants in a supportive, flexible and high‑performing culture.

You will play a supporting role in leadership of the London Sustainability team, share line‑management responsibilities, manage individuals and accelerate the development of junior staff through mentoring and training.

You will specialise in whole‑life carbon assessment and management, providing in‑depth analysis, guidance and innovative solutions to reduce carbon footprints across the entire lifecycle of projects—from design and construction through to operation and end‑of‑life. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, embed sustainable practices and ensure compliance with evolving carbon regulations and standards.


Key Responsibilities

* Own and deliver large‑scale projects with industry‑leading clients.
* Manage and prioritise project team workload.
* Report resourcing requirements to the project lead.
* Develop junior team members.
* Delegate, manage and review work undertaken by others.
* Support production of fee proposals and invoicing.
* Lead workshops with clients and design teams and communicate information clearly.
* Undertake modelling and analysis, including embodied carbon of materials, circular economy opportunities, building performance simulation, operational energy use, energy generation and overheating.
* Lead the development of sustainability and energy strategies.
* Lead delivery of environmental assessments (BREEAM, WELL, HQM, etc.) from early design stages through completion.
* Support the drive towards net‑zero whole‑life carbon in projects.
* Collaborate with the Sustainability Group on research and development initiatives to stay at the cutting edge.
* Engage in industry research, development studies, and author industry guidance.


About You


Key Skills & Knowledge

* Energy strategies
* Building Regulations Part L assessments (Elmhurst and IES)
* NABERS UK modelling
* In‑use energy modelling and assessment
* Dynamic modelling for thermal comfort and overheating risk assessments
* BREEAM and HQM assessments
* Bespoke sustainability charters
* Health and wellbeing strategies and certification
* Production of planning documents (sustainability statements, energy statements, whole‑life carbon reports, circular economy statements)
* Net‑zero carbon strategies and embodied carbon calculations


To Be Successful

* Experience in sustainability consultancy with a focus on leading‑edge practice.
* Relevant degree and passion for creating sustainable solutions.
* Confidence to lead sustainability workshops with design teams.
* Dynamic team player with excellent communication skills.
* Demonstrable experience working with clients, contractors and architects in a design‑oriented consulting role.
* Self‑awareness, open mind and generosity.
* Experience supporting others to develop knowledge, skills and confidence.
