Mechanical Maintenance Technician Location: BirminghamSalary: £Negotiable DOE Reference: MECHMAINT-BH-DB Our client, a specialist producer of high-quality niche alloys, is seeking a skilled and time-served Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join their production site in Birmingham. The facility operates state of the art casting and rolling equipment, supplying rolled metal products to a range of industries. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer looking to work within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern. Key Responsibilities: Attend plant breakdowns and carry out effective fault diagnosis and repairSupport plant operations including induction furnaces, automated casting, milling, rolling, annealing, pickling and slitting linesMaintain conveyors, pump systems, gearboxes, mechanical transmission systems, and overhead cranesCarry out TPM and PPM activities to maximise plant reliabilityRepair, maintain and improve plant equipment to required operational standardsUndertake installation work and continuous improvement projects as requiredWork effectively both independently and as part of a team Requirements: Minimum 3 years' experience within a medium to heavy industrial mechanical environmentTime served Mechanical Engineer with relevant qualifications (City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ Level 3)Strong experience with fluid power systems including HP/LP hydraulics and pneumaticsAbility to fault-find and troubleshoot mechanical plant equipmentExperience in basic fabrication and machine shop activitiesAbility to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematic drawings Desirable Skills: HNC in Mechanical EngineeringFoundry experienceExperience working within heavy manufacturing or metals processing environments Package Details: Competitive salaryEmployer contribution pension scheme4 on 4 off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights)23.5 shifts holiday per annumOnsite and offsite training opportunities To Contact Direct: Daniel Barnett Senior Executive Consultant At Aspion, our core values have been built around the importance of transparency, innovation, passion and collaboration.
