Your newpanyAn SME Contractor based in Lincolnshire is currently on the lookout for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their operational team.This well-establishedpany operates across the UK and with the overwhelming growth and demand in the market, thepany plan to deliver a wide range of projects in order to expand and build on their already prestigious project portfolio. With impressive builds and refurbishments across a variety of sectors including education, healthcare, public sector, leisure, residential, hospitality, this contractor now has a requirement for a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing construction team and be responsible for aiding with all front end activities for managing their uing projects.Your new role :Reporting to themercial construction Manager and working closely with the Operational Team you will be responsible for the cost estimating, tendering, front end pre start delivery and management of a variety of projects as well as providing regular updates on the performance of on-going projects valuing up to £10m.
As the Quantity Surveyor your duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Carrying out the day to day administration of themercial and financial aspects of projects bids
2. Close liaison with the Project Management Team
3. Aiding of bid submissions
4. Preparing Cost and Value reporting
5. Preparingmercial performance reports
6. Manage procurement including labour, plant, materials and subcontract
7. Contributing to monthly board reports via themercial construction Manager
8. Cost control
9. Cash collection
10. Subcontract management enquiries/procurement and liaison
What you'll need to succeed :In order to be successful in this role, you will have prior experience of working as a Quantity Surveyor at pre construction stage for a constructionpany or have solid experience and be ready to take a step into a more senior role. This role would require you to have strong negotiation skills to work with subcontractors and clients to reach positivemercial terms and minimise anymercial risks to the business. You must have good technical knowledge and skills in the construction sector and a good knowledge ofmonly used contracts and frameworks. Ideally, you will hold a formal qualification in quantity surveying at degree level. However, candidates will be considered with HND/ HNC qualifications and relevant experience.Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
11. A degree/HND or equivalent inmercial Management/Quantity Surveying or other construction related subject or substantial previous experience in a similar position
12. Amercially and contractually astute individual that takes ownership of performance
13. A proactive person with a disposition to take action pre-emptively to manage risk and opportunity
14. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
15. Results driven with the capability of working on their own initiative
16. Ability to deal with large amounts of data accurately and efficiently
17. High attention to detail
