Welfare Officer – Primary School Setting

Contract: Full-Time | Term-Time Only
A friendly and well-established primary school in Hillingdon is seeking a qualified and experienced Welfare Officer to join their pastoral team. This is a key role supporting the health, wellbeing, and safeguarding of pupils throughout the school day.

The Role
As Welfare Officer, you will:
* Provide first aid and medical care to pupils
* Manage medical care plans, medication administration, and accident records
* Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and work closely with pastoral staff
* Assist with safeguarding concerns in line with school policies
* Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and external professionals
* Support attendance, punctuality, and wellbeing initiatives
* Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with GDPR
About You
* Relevant qualifications (e.g.
Paediatric First Aid, First Aid at Work, Health & Social Care or equivalent) – essential
* Previous experience working as a Welfare Officer or in a similar role within a primary school in the UK (essential)
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
* Calm, caring, and professional approach
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via Uniform Education)
