The structures department drives car design forward ensuring components are safe while extracting the maximum performance available. We verify that designs meet FIA and internal criteria working with multiple departments to achieve the optimum for all.
Structures Industrial Placement
As a Structures Industrial Placement, you will be at the heart of our Structures team, where you’ll play a critical role in analysing components and assemblies from all over the car making sure they meet our safety criteria while reducing weight to a minimum. Working in the structures departments gives you the opportunity to work across multiple departments balancing multiple constrains and requirements. We influence designs from the very first concepts through to small details being key contributors in the entire process.
Shape the Future
* Assist with the analysis of vehicle components to support design and performance improvements.
* Provide concise and relevant feedback to design stakeholders to inform engineering decisions.
* Attend team meetings to contribute to discussions on ongoing projects and technical challenges.
* Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and design solutions.
* Communicate regularly with engineers and project managers to meet all technical requirements and maintain alignment across teams.
Make Real Impact
* Contribute to the structural integrity and performance of vehicle components through detailed analysis.
* Help improve design quality and reliability by identifying issues and proposing solutions.
* Play a key role in cross-functional collaboration, ensuring structural considerations are integrated into broader engineering efforts.
* Support the delivery of high-performance components that meet the demands of Formula One racing.
Qualifications
Find Your Place
* Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a clear focus on structural engineering and related technologies.
* Strong background in mechanical or automotive engineering, developed through academic studies or personal projects.
* Adaptable and proactive, with the ability to demonstrate initiative and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
* Ability to work effectively in a team, communicate clearly, and learn from those around you.
* Motorsport experience through internships or personal projects is highly desirable.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to take ownership of challenges.
