This role combines learning and practical on the job training. At the end of it all, you'll have a Qualification as a L4 Regulatory Compliance Officer.
You'll be fully supported to meet the learning requirements of the qualification.

Job description
We have an exciting regulatory compliance officer apprenticeship. As the Remote Enforcement Examiner (Regulatory Compliance Officer), you will work closely with a team of Enforcement professionals to support DVSA's aims to prevent, enable and respond. Your main purpose is to assess and follow up on roadside offences, analysing data to make informed decisions on compliance information, collaborate with the wider team, internal and external stakeholders, respond to enquiries from the public and handle complaints.
You will perform a range of duties, ensuring that accurate and thorough assessments are completed, of operators, approved tachograph centres and MOT testing stations, assessing their processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and highlighting areas of concerns across the Enforcement spectrum. This will include conducting technical analysis of tachograph data, driver's hour's information and maintenance systems assessments, and associated tasks in relation to the light vehicle MOT testing and national bus compliance schemes.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Monitoring and leading on bus compliance remote enforcement schemes
* Conducting Desk Based Assessments (DBA's) of operators, approved tachograph centres and MOT testing stations, to assess their processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
* Analysing data and information provided by operators
* Updating spreadsheets and managing mailboxes
* Working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Person specification
You are a self-motivated and ambitious individual who is comfortable working independently and keen to develop and build knowledge.
You will have a good level of computer literacy including experience of Microsoft Word and Excel in particular.
You have good written and verbal communication skills and can effectively deliver information in a clear, confident and professional manner.
You will be someone who can build rapport with key stakeholders both internally and externally and enjoys working collaboratively with people at all levels.
Additional Information
To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must:
* Be aged 18 or over.
* Have the right work in the UK.
* Hold L2 (GCSE grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
* Not be in full-time education.
* Not be in receipt of funding for other learning programmes at the point of enrolment for this apprenticeship.
* Have valid and eligible residency status and be resident in the UK for 3 years before the start of the apprenticeship. Full eligibility details can be found at Annex A. If you are not sure if you meet the residency requirements then please contact us before applying.
If you currently hold or are working towards a similar qualification of the same level or higher, then you will not be eligible to apply for this vacancy. In order to be eligible for our apprenticeship vacancy, any qualifications previously held or currently being worked towards must differ in content so that this apprenticeship provides substantial new skills. Additionally you must not already be over-qualified or over-experienced in this type of work.

Working hours, office attendance and travel requirements
Full time roles consist of 37 hours per week.
Whilst we welcome applications from those looking to work with us on a part time basis, there is a business requirement for the successful candidate to be able to work at least 35 hours per week.
This role is suitable for hybrid working, which is a non-contractual arrangement where a combination of workplace and home-based working can be accommodated subject to business requirements.
The expectation at present is a minimum of 60% of your working time a month will be spent at either your designated workplace (one of the locations cited in the advert) or, when required for business reasons, in another office/work location/visiting stakeholders. Your designated workplace will be your contractual place of work. There may be occasions where you are required to attend above the minimum expectation.
