Our client has been established for almost a century and are market leaders in the design and manufacture of bespoke rail solutions for supply across the globe, and as a result of continued success and exciting plans for the future, are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Mechanical Design Engineer to join their design and development team.
Tasked with undertaking the design, development, and technical detailing of mechanical systems and components allied to the locomotive sector, the role ensures that designs meet functional, safety, manufacturability, and quality requirements, and will necessitate close collaboration with the manufacturing, operations and project teams to support new build, refurbishment, and aftermarket initiatives.
Core responsibilities for this varied and unique Mechanical Design Engineer opportunity based near Burton-on-Trent will include (but not be limited to):
1. Developing detailed mechanical designs and 3D models for locomotives, components, and associated systems in line with project requirements.
2. Producing accurate technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
