Welsh-Speaking HLTA – Full Time – Cardiff – September Start
Teaching Personnel is seeking a confident and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a highly regarded Welsh-language immersion provision in Cardiff, starting September 2025. This full-time role offers the opportunity to play a key part in pupils’ educational journeys as they transition into Welsh-medium education.
This specialist provision supports pupils aged 3–14 who are new to the Welsh language and are preparing to join Welsh-medium schools across Cardiff. Learners attend for a set period to develop their Welsh language skills through a full-day, immersive experience delivered in a nurturing and inclusive setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and deliver Welsh-language learning activities in line with immersion strategies
Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, focusing on language acquisition and emotional development
Use creative and structured methods to build pupils’ confidence and independence
Liaise with class teachers, therapists, and external agencies to ensure personalised support
Maintain accurate records of progress and contribute to pupil planning and review meetings

Requirements:
Fluent Welsh speaker (spoken and written) – Essential
HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in an education setting
Experience working with children with additional learning needs or those requiring language support
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Confident, adaptable, and committed to inclusive practice
