About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a HR Business Partner to join our growing team in Nacton.
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a valued advisor to a high functioning delivery director and project team, aligning the project HR plan to support the delivery of the section milestones. The HRBP will support the HR team to drive initiatives across talent management, employee engagement, performance, and organisational development to support a high‑performing and inclusive culture. Be part of this ‘once in a generation’ project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2‑Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low‑carbon electricity.
What you'll be doing
* Build strong relationships with the alliance HR team and HR COEs involved in the project.
* Support the alliance HR team in delivery of project initiatives across talent management, employee engagement, performance.
* Maintain HR data and utilise it for informed decision‑making and to support project reviews.
* Manage resource requirements for the project.
* Own the governance of recruitment decisions and escape as necessary.
* Support the implementation and ongoing review of the project set people KPIs.
* Provide one‑to‑one coaching and advice on people matters to assist leaders in executing the People plan.
* Promote high performance by encouraging line managers to consistently apply performance and development guidelines.
* Address non‑standard queries that have significant project impacts, escalating and managing them as required.
* Maintain a high standard of service whilst responding to multiple priorities and managing a varied workload.
* Maintain communication and relationships with the core business to bridge the gaps.
Who we're looking for
* Proven track record in building effective relationships with complex senior leadership teams, managing project and cultural change initiatives, and managing the delivery of HR strategies.
* Demonstrable experience working within the context of complex, matrix organisations with a varied workforce and delivering across the full range of HR disciplines.
* Viewed as an emotionally intelligent and trusted business advisor, maintaining a broad commercial and business understanding to develop long‑term business relationships with the ability to coach and influence senior colleagues.
* Ability and willingness to travel across sites and depots, and work independently.
* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
