We are now recruiting for a Boar Studs Manager to lead our teams and drive performance across our breeding farms. The Role The Boar Studs Manager is responsible for the full operational, technical and people management of two insemination centres, ensuring high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, product quality, regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. Youll be responsible for developing your team, supporting our farmers, and driving continuous improvement through operational excellence and collaboration across the agricultural division. This is a key leadership role for someone passionate about people, pigs, and performance. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations across both insemination centres, including semen collection, processing, quality assessment, freezing, storage and distribution. Ensure all operational procedures are standardised and consistently applied across both sites. Monitor production performance, efficiency, wastage, turnaround times and capacity utilisation. Lead, motivate and develop multidisciplinary teams across both centres (technicians, veterinarians, animal handlers and support staff). Ensure compliance with all applicable UK legislation and regulatory bodies Prepare and manage operational budgets for both centres. Act as the main point of contact between the centres and internal departments (logistics, quality, commercial, finance). Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement. Lead a culture of safety, accountability, and respect, ensuring that Safety is a Condition in everything we do. Represent Pilgrims Europe at industry meetings, inspections and professional forums About You Youll be an experienced agricultural leader with a strong understanding of commercial pig production and a proven ability to develop teams and build strong relationships with farmers. Essential Skills & Experience: Sound practical knowledge of pig production, animal health, and welfare standards. Proven experience in leading and developing teams across multiple locations. Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive change. Proficient in data management and reporting (Excel, Word, Outlook). Commercial awareness and a proactive, hands-on leadership style. Excellent relationship-building skills - both internally and externally.
