Main duties of the job
This post is responsible for the leadership and strategic development of the pharmacy research and development service across the Trust, including education and training within research. It also supports the Associate Chief Pharmacist for R&D with the overall governance of clinical trials in Pharmacy, ensuring regulatory and statutory requirements are met. The post holder will ensure standards for the clinical trial pharmacy service are met, monitor performance, and provide services efficiently to the required GCP standards and in accordance with users\' needs. The post holder will be a key member of Trust R&D multidisciplinary groups and represent the Trust at external system-wide meetings.

Qualifications (Essential)
* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Services and BTC (or equivalent)
* Registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
* Accuracy Checking Technician Award
Knowledge and experience (Essential)
* Knowledge and experience of working in pharmacy clinical trials
* Experience of leading a team and line management
* Experience of working in a hospital pharmacy
* Experience in procedure, policy and guideline writing
* Understanding of GCP and its implementation within pharmacy services
* Knowledge of local and national developments including legislation related to GCP and clinical trials
