We're reopening applications for our Adviser Academy - a multi-term programme over 12 months, designed to take you from trainee to expert financial planner.
The Mattioli Woods Adviser Academy delivers one of the most credible adviser development programmes in the profession. What sets it apart? A fully salaried model, genuine one-to-one mentorship, and real client exposure from day one.
Essential requirements
23 years in customer-facing roles (banking, sales, mortgages, or service)
clear, confident communicator with a genuine interest in helping people
detail-oriented, professional, and able to study independently
strong literacy and numeracy; comfortable with technical information
resilient, curious, and motivated for a long-term financial planning career
eligible for full pre-employment checks, including DBS
RO1 exam completed before start*
*If you dont yet have RO1, well support you to complete it before your start date. Mattioli Woods will reimburse the cost upon successful completion and your start in the Academy.

Your four-term journey
Term 1 (3.5 months) Professional foundations
Complete RO2RO5, building technical knowledge, regulatory confidence, and professional credibility.
Term 2 (2.5 months) Training to advise
Complete RO6 and learn the Mattioli Woods way, gaining insight into our proposition, processes, and people through expert-led sessions.
Term 3 (6 months) One-to-one mentoring
Shadow a senior adviser, developing practical skills and understanding what excellent advice looks like, while gradually taking on more responsibility. Successful completion leads to your official start as a Mattioli Woods adviser.
Term 4 (9 months) Early career support
Refine your skills with a focus on craft and commerciality, supported by ongoing coaching and structured performance reflection.
