As a Laundry Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. By joining HC-One you’ll have a wonderful opportunity to give something back to residents and colleagues.
Responsibilities
* Maintain a high standard of order and tidiness within the laundry area.
* Wash, dry, iron and repair items as needed to keep residents’ clothing looking and feeling great.
* Maintain linen stocks for day to day use and raise any issues to the Senior Housekeeper as you go.
* Work to create and environment that’s well maintained, with a focus on detail and quality of work.
* Fold or separate linen/clothes and prepare items for return to rooms or redistribution to correct rooms, with a courteous and kind approach.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience is preferred, but great training will be provided.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Positive energy and a natural ability to get along with people.
* Strong communication skills, including listening as well as giving instruction, and treating residents and co-workers with kindness and consideration.
* Safeguarding awareness: ability to recognise signs of possible abuse, harm or neglect and to know what to do if concerns arise. Attendance at safeguarding training is required, with ongoing training in related areas.
