Job Title: Process Improvement Technician
Location: Cupar, Scotland
Contract type and shift: Permanent Monday to Friday

If so, we want you to join our team at ABN Cupar as a Process Improvement Technician.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and product quality. This role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing operations, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement principles.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review current feed milling processes to identify areas for improvement.
2. Develop and implement process optimisation strategies to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
3. Conduct time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
4. Deliver continuous improvement projects using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
5. Monitor and report on the progress of improvement initiatives, ensuring goals and priorities are met.
6. Collect, analyse, and interpret process data to make informed decisions.
7. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of process improvements.
8. Use statistical tools to analyse data and identify trends or patterns.
9. Provide technical support to operations teams to resolve process-related issues.
10. Develop and implement troubleshooting procedures to minimise downtime and ensure consistent product quality.
11. Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
12. Promote a culture of safety and quality through training and continuous improvement efforts.
13. Work closely with engineering, production, quality, and distribution to ensure successful project completion.
About you:
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in process engineering, continuous improvement, or a related role in the feed milling industry or a similar manufacturing environment.
3. Proven experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
4. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (Desirable)
5. Lean Manufacturing certification (Desirable)
6. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (Desirable)
