We are recruiting on behalf of a leading national housebuilder for a Senior Buyer to join their Commercial team. This is a key role supporting multiple housing developments, ensuring materials are ordered efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the required specification.
Senior Buyer Key Responsibilities:
Manage materials and plant orders with national and general suppliers, optimising cost and quality.
Attend pre-start and project meetings to review drawings and specifications.
Prepare cost schedules, budgets, and material valuations.
Monitor and report on material cost increases and site accruals.
Resolve invoice queries and carry out site material checks.
Collaborate with Estimators, Quantity Surveyors, and other teams to support successful project delivery.
Senior Buyer Requirements:
NVQ Level 4 or higher in a relevant discipline and a valid CSCS card.
Experienced with COINS Software
Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and experience managing budgets.
Methodical, organised, and able to work independently.
Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
Strong IT skills and familiarity with commercial systems.
