Payroll Officer – Temp, Immediate Start (Office-Based, Full-Time) In-house payroll | Circa 500 employees | Urgent start Are you an experienced Payroll Officer / Payroll Administrator who can hit the ground running? I’m working with a client who needs someone immediately to take ownership of their in-house payroll – this is a full-time, office-based temp role starting ASAP. The role You’ll be responsible for managing a c.500-strong payroll, making sure everyone is paid accurately and on time. This is a hands-on, end-to-end payroll role where you’ll be the go-to person on site for anything payroll-related. Key responsibilities: * End-to-end processing of in-house payroll for circa 500 employees * Ensuring accurate calculation of pay, overtime, holiday pay and allowances * Processing starters, leavers and contractual changes * Handling PAYE, NI, pensions and other statutory deductions * Checking and reconciling payroll reports before final sign-off * Dealing with payroll queries from employees and managers * Maintaining up-to-date and accurate payroll records What we’re looking for * Recent experience in an in-house Payroll Officer / Payroll Administrator role * Confident running end-to-end, high-volume payroll (ideally 300 employees) * Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation (PAYE, NI, pensions, SSP, SMP etc.) * Able to work in the office 5 days a week – this role is fully office-based * Available to start immediately or on very short notice * Organised, accurate and comfortable working to strict payroll deadlines What’s on offer * Temporary payroll role with an immediate start * Office-based, full-time hours (Monday–Friday) * Competitive hourly rate, paid weekly * Chance to take full ownership of a busy in-house payroll and add real value If you’re a Payroll Officer / Payroll Administrator who is immediately available and confident managing a 500-strong payroll in-house, please apply now with your CV – I’m shortlisting quickly and my client is ready to interview at short notice
