Specialty Doctor in Clinical Haematology

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Specialty doctor in Clinical Haematology to join our friendly and enthusiastic team at the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC). An enthusiastic and forward-thinking consultant will work within a supportive team covering North Cumbria.
Any applicant who is unable for personal reasons to work full time will be eligible to be considered for this post on a part-time basis. Visits can be arranged for candidates and their families in order to appreciate the quality of life our Hospitals and the surrounding area can offer. Applicants must hold valid registration with the GMC.
Main duties of the job
The post will be based at the Cumberland Infirmary but working as an integrated service covering West Cumberland Hospital. The successful applicant will complement our team of existing haematologists and nurses, together providing level 2A Clinical Haematology care for NCIC patients

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full registration with GMC
* MBBS or recognised equivalent
* MRCP
* FRCPath 1
Experience
* Completed at least four years' full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
* Teaching of junior medical staff, nursing staff.
* Training in evidence based medicine
* Evidence of CPD
* Evidence of appraisal and revalidation within GMC guidelines
Governance
* Evidence of participation in audit locally
* Familiar with Clinical Governance
* Ability to take responsibility, show leadership and make decisions
* Academic training with research publication
* Experience in Clinical Governance
Communication
* Willing and able to work with colleagues in management, nursing and other specialties to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and reliable care
* The ability to communicate with clarity and intelligibility in written and spoken English
* Sees patients as people, and works co-operatively with others
* IT Skills
