Are you a highly motivated occupational therapist with experience working in mental health, ready for your next challenge and keen to work and live in the beautiful region of Dumfries and Galloway?

This role forms part of a wider Mental Health AHP team that provides specialist Occupational Therapy input to our community and inpatient mental health services across the region. This role although is based with the Wigtownshire Community Mental Health Team, forms part of the wider Occupational Therapy team that works across the West of the region. We provide a range of evidence based specialist assessments and interventions to adults as key members of the multi-disciplinary community mental health team in the area.

As a small, supportive, innovative Mental Health Allied Health Professions Team we collaborate to deliver a programme of group work delivered both virtually and in person. Systems and processes are in place to ensure that you will have regular supervision and opportunities for learning and development and involvement in projects to improve services.

It is essential that you hold a driving licence or are able to travel around the region independently outwith public transport routes/times.

You should have a degree level qualification as an occupational therapist and are registered with the HCPC.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
