Hotel Manager at Cowley Manor
Based in: Cowley,
Cheltenham
Reports to: General
Manager
We are looking for an
Assistant Hotel Manager to join and challenge our dynamic team! You will be
responsible for various operational matters and support the General Manager in their
daily tasks. Together, you will lead and coordinate the hotel's activities with
a special focus on guest and team satisfaction. In the absence of the General
Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the hotel, decision
making and the application of group standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Supervision -
* Propose rapid and well-thought-out
solutions in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
* Ensures good communication
between depts, delegates tasks to managers and monitors follow up.
* Ensure the adherence to
group policies and established operating procedures.
* Participate in
weekly meetings with the Front Office Manager, Reservation Manager, and the
Housekeeping Manager to review team and operational matters.
* Management of mini bar standards+ inventories.
* Train staff on Opera.
* Ensure good functioning of the hotel, being proactive
on maintenance, and main contact for maintenance manager
* Assists teams
of each dept as needed such as covering reception as needed and being in charge
of Housekeeping when the Housekeeping Manager is off.
* Support GM by
reviewing rotas, supporting Hotel HODs, weekly orders, issues, monitor
weekly/monthly tasks, SOPs, meetings, ensuring good customer service, and team
training etc as needed
* Participate in all partner or supplier meetings
and weekly meetings with Hotel HODs.
* Assist GM in overall financial budgets and
targets including cost control and optimisation measures, P&L and revenue
meetings
Guest Experience
* Ensure the services delivered are always in line with the
Experimental’s standards.
* In
cooperation with the General Manager, handle and provide adequate solutions
complaints,
team issues, and general hotel issues
* Monitor guests’ feedbacks on all
platforms, share them to the team and implement actions.
* Helping support FOM with any guest issues
* Works to find new clients and win loyalty of existing
clients
Human Resources Supervision
In coordination with the General Manager:
* Communicate all HR and operational needs to
the People Team.
* Support in the recruitment of hotel staff,
review JDs, conduct regular trainings, and review staff hours as needed.
* Communicate all the HR information needed to
the People Team and complete all required paperwork.
* Support and coordinate the on-site
inductions.
* Participate
in the creation of a positive work environment, ensuring a high employee
engagement and optimising the employee retention.
* Work
to resolve staff complaints, support the team in resolving disputes.
Reporting & Admin
* Support the General Manager with admin tasks, and Health & Safety
compliance.
* Participate in the admin tasks such
as regular reporting, management of inventory, orders, and purchases.
* Be the link between the operations and the accounting department to
ensure the process are respected.
* Be responsible for all cash related tasks.

within a comparable venue.

* Flexibility to respond quickly

* Knowledge as well as abilities
in other languages would be beneficial.
* Proof of eligibility to work in
the UK.

Experimental Group in 2022, Cowley Manor is entering the next chapter of its
life. The property is home to 36 bedrooms complemented by a spa,
restaurant, cocktail lounge, library, mudroom and plentiful living rooms.
The property features a postcard landscape of rolling hills and sheep dotted in
the distance spread across 55 acres of idyllic countryside.
The refurbished
design by Dorothée Meilichzon has taken inspiration from each chapter of
Cowley Manor’s book, weaving together classical inspiration with
contemporary elements across each of the estate’s bedrooms. A sort of joyeux
bordel, a happy mess.
The new
restaurant and cocktail bar at Cowley Manor is a place to celebrate a
milestone, or simply enjoy a wonderful meal. Local produce will be at the
forefront, highlighting some of Gloucestershire’s finest offerings.
The spa features treatments such as relaxing massages, facials and
more. gym, indoor or outdoor pool.
