Position: Metallurgical Laboratory Technician
Location: South Yorkshire
Salary: Negotiable based on experience but likely £30,000-£40,000
Hybrid: No, office based in South Yorkshire

The Role
* Ensuring that all work is carried out according to instructions
* Ensuring that all health and safety requirements are adhered to
* Ensuring that all equipment is maintained and calibrated as required
* Ensuring that all reports are accurate and succinct, delivering all required information to stakeholders
* Carrying out testing and report writing as required as part of the team
* Recruitment, training and development of staff to ensure availability of skills
* Providing reports to the SLT on activity levels, costs etc
About You
* A degree level qualification is essential. This MUST be in Metallurgy, Materials Science or very similar
* Post‑graduate certifications (Masters, MSc, MEng, PhD) are most welcome
* Proven experience of working in a laboratory environment, ideally for 2+ years
* Experience of microscopy, mechanical testing, corrosion, surface finish, heat treatment etc
* Fluent written and spoken English including the ability to write complex technical reports in a clear and concise manner
* Experience of specifying laboratory equipment is beneficial
