Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to join the nursing team on Padarn Ward, Glangwili General Hospital. Padarn Ward is a 19-bed ward caring for respiratory and general medical patients, the respiratory pathway for Hywel Dda University Health Board, providing non invasive ventilation (NIV), high-flow oxygen therapy and other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The post holder will provide visible, professional nursing leadership and develop the core nursing team to deliver compassionate, high-quality patient-centred care.
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills; manage a varied workload; supervise, support and develop others in the team; lead by example to empower the team and maintain patient safety and high standards of care.
* Provide professional nursing leadership with ongoing induction and development support; work with the multidisciplinary team to meet patient needs; maintain effective patient care and experience.
* Develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships with clinical specialists from across nursing and the wider multidisciplinary team.
* Support the Welsh language commitment where applicable; Welsh language skills are desirable.
Qualifications/Experience
* Registered nurse with current registration and appropriate qualification.
* Experience in leadership/ward management in respiratory or medical settings is desirable.
* Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills; flexible and adaptable to change.
Welsh language
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. The Health Board offers learning options to meet minimal desirable Welsh language requirements during employment.
