SALARY: £24,796 per annum FTE (Actual Salary for 38 Weeks per Year £20,369)
LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 36.25 Hours per Week, 7.45am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, Term-Time Only (38 weeks)
Job Overview
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a School Receptionist Administrator to join a busy reception team within an education environment.
As a School Receptionist Administrator you will be the first point of contact for visitors, parents, staff and pupils, providing a friendly front of house service, managing enquiries and supporting day-to-day office administration.
The School Receptionist Administrator will use excellent communication skills, tact, diplomacy and Microsoft Office knowledge to help maintain an organised, welcoming and efficient reception area.
Responsibilities
* Reception Service: Provide a daily switchboard and reception service for visitors, staff, parents and pupils
* Visitor Records: Maintain electronic staff and visitor sign in/out records, ensuring DBS requirements and fire evacuation procedures are followed
* Reception Area: Keep the reception area smart, tidy and welcoming at all times
* Room Bookings: Update and maintain electronic GoogleDoc booking forms for meeting rooms
* Telephone Lists: Update and maintain telephone lists accurately
* Pupil and Staff Support: Assist in locating pupils and teachers when required
* Enquiry Handling: Deal with enquiries from visitors, staff and pupils quickly and efficiently
* Student Liaison: Liaise with and direct students who support reception duties effectively
* SIMS Administration: Use SIMS to print timetables, class lists and reports, and assist with updating student absences where necessary
* Administrative Support: Provide back-up support for administrative staff absence and assist with computer-based administrative systems
Candidate Requirements
* Communication Skills: High standards of verbal and written communication
* Customer Service: Confidence dealing with the public, parents, staff, pupils and visitors in a professional manner
* Microsoft Office: Ability to use the full suite of Microsoft Office
* Organisation Skills: Able to manage reception duties, enquiries and administration efficiently
* Teamwork: Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexible Approach: Adaptable and comfortable working in a busy environment where no two days are the same
* Tact and Diplomacy: Able to handle enquiries with patience, courtesy and discretion
* Positive Attitude: Hardworking, friendly and passionate about assisting young people
