The Role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Planner or Planner to join the Development Team at the company’s head office in Maidstone. You will work closely with the Head of Planning and two Senior Planning Managers on a range of exciting development projects across Kent and its borders with Surrey, East Sussex, and southeast London. You’ll play an integral role in the planning journey, from reviewing potential sites and supporting land acquisition to managing planning applications and discharging conditions. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-quality developments within an entrepreneurial and supportive environment. Key responsibilities of the role include:
* Collaborating with Land and Design Teams to ensure cohesive planning strategies.
* Managing planning applications from preparation to determination.
* Supporting the promotion of strategic sites through Local Plans.
* Handling the discharge of planning conditions and S106 requirements.
* Liaising with internal teams, external consultants, local authorities, and key stakeholders.
* Enhancing planning processes to improve efficiency and delivery.
* Representing the business professionally in all external communications.
Requirements:
* A degree or master’s in Planning.
* Experience in preparing or determining residential planning applications.
* Experience in promoting or evaluating sites through the Local Plan process.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* A full UK driving licence.
* A team player with a proactive and collaborative approach.
* MRTPI qualification or working towards it (desirable).
* Experience within a developer, planning consultancy, or Local Planning Authority (desirable).
