Job Purpose: The SEN Teaching Assistant will support the teaching staff in delivering high-quality education and care to students with special educational needs. You will assist with classroom activities, provide one-to-one or small group support, and help implement personalised learning plans to meet individual student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students with learning, communication, and behavioural needs in line with their individual education plans (IEPs).
* Assist teachers in delivering lessons and adapting resources to meet diverse needs.
* Provide one-to-one or small group support to students requiring additional assistance.
* Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and social development.
* Monitor and record student progress and share observations with teaching staff.
* Support students with personal care, as required.
* Assist with preparing classroom resources and maintaining a safe, organised learning environment.
* Participate in team meetings, training, and school activities as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
* Understanding of SEND strategies and educational support techniques.
* Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning, CACHE, or equivalent) are advantageous.
