You’ll work on the construction of Hinkley Point C in #Somerset – a project that will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for at least 60 years.You’ll complete placements across different teams, gaining insight into health and safety management on a major infrastructure project. Throughout your apprenticeship you will maintain a student IOSH status which will then progress to TechIOSH following successful apprenticeship completion.Your Work LocationYou’ll be based at Hinkley Point C in #Somerset, working alongside management and delivery teams to ensure legal and project-specific health and safety requirements are met.We offer the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis, where applicable, as well as the possibility of travel to other sites for broader exposure.Delivery of the Level 3 Health and Safety programme will be via remote learning; however, you may occasionally be required to travel to Penshaw View, Sunderland.What You’ll ExperienceThroughout your two years at HPC you will complete your NEBOSH certificate equivalent qualification which allows you to apply what you learn with the college, firsthand on site.Supporting the development and review of safe systems of workEngaging with teams to embed a strong safety cultureLearning how health and safety management enhances operationsGaining practical experience on one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projectsBuilding skills to influence behaviour and promote fairness and inclusionWho You AreTo be eligible for this EDF apprenticeship programme, you need:Five GCSEs at Grade C or above (or Grade 4 and above), including English and MathsA genuine interest in health and safetyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAn open-minded, flexible approach and the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentThe Assessment Centre will be delivered either virtually or in person.
