Portfolio Delivery Manager opportunity with Surrey & Sussex Police Digital, Data & Technology Department (IT), to cover Maternity Leave (12 months fixed-term contract). We have an exciting opportunity available to join our DDaT Team as a Portfolio Delivery Manager. From your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference. The Portfolio Delivery Manager is accountable for the successful management and delivery of portfolios of projects within the overall IT Change Programme. This role is key in fostering a culture of customer service in the IT Department and includes: supporting the Portfolio Delivery Lead in the successful delivery of portfolios of projects within the overall IT Change Programme. being accountable for the management, monitoring, assurance and reporting of portfolios of change projects within the overall IT Change Programme. ensuring that the overall impact of the IT Change Programme on the joint force is understood by relevant colleagues through effective stakeholder management. developing the delivery of portfolios of change projects so that benefits are enjoyed by the joint force. establishing and maintaining stakeholder confidence in, and value of, portfolio management. The role may vary slightly during this Maternity period to support the Chief Operating Officer wider portfolio of changes/objectives. It is expected that these changes/objectives can be fulfilled by the Portfolio Delivery Manager. Any changes during this cover, will be discussed. Skills & Experience It is essential that the post-holder has: Technical knowledge and experience of the following (with a more in-depth knowledge of at least one of the specialist areas below): Application and database technologies including Oracle / Microsoft / SUSE, application platforms including Oracle 11G database Oracle Apps, Oracle Web Services, Oracle HR and Finance, MS SQL, Data Warehouse, DR and BC solutions, SOA, Business Objects, Windows Server, IIS, SharePoint, .Net, Workflows, GIS, Mapping, Gazetteer; Infrastructure technologies including Cisco networking and IP/Telephony, ACD, VPN, PKI, Blackberry, encryption, Windows, Citrix Server systems and thin clients, clustering, virtualisation, high availability, SAN / NAS, tiered storage design, P2V migration, SCCM, SCOM, Exchange, Active Directory, FIM, Share Point, Lync, file services, capacity management, patching, backups and restore, DR and BC solutions. A high level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Project and SharePoint. Extensive experience of managing portfolios and projects within a formal project and/or programme management framework (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP) in a complex environment including projects of varying sizes. ITIL Foundation Qualification. Experience in the design and delivery of portfolios of change linked to business strategy and organisational vision. Experience of working at a strategic level with key business stakeholders. Experience of financial budgeting, planning, forecasting, analytics and management reporting across complex projects, portfolios, and programmes of change. Considerable experience of creating, building, leading and motivating teams. Extensive technical experience of delivering business change in a complex, multi-site IT environment. Experience of leading a team of technical specialist resources, including third party suppliers, to deliver portfolios of change. The ability to chair meetings effectively and to present portfolio and project information to a wide range of stakeholders. The ability to communicate technical issues effectively to specialists and non-specialists both verbally and in writing. Why Work With Us?
