We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and highly capable Bank Maintenance Operative to support the upkeep, safety, and compliance of our office and warehouse facilities. This role is suited to a true “jack of all trades” someone who is confident across multiple maintenance disciplines and takes pride in keeping facilities safe, functional, and well maintained. This is a hands-on, ad-hoc role where you will be expected to work independently, respond to issues quickly, and take ownership of maintenance tasks from start to finish. You will play a key role in ensuring the building remains compliant, operational, and aligned with health & safety standards. You will also be responsible for completing compliance checks and logging all activity using the MaintainX system, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date. What We’re Looking For A proactive, “can-do” attitude Someone dependable who takes ownership of their work Strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck in Ability to work under pressure and respond to issues quickly Flexible and adaptable approach to ad-hoc work A team player who supports the wider business Requirements Key Responsibilities Building & Facilities Maintenance Carry out general maintenance and repair work across office and warehouse environments Complete a wide range of handyman duties including: Electrics (lighting, wiring checks, fault finding, installations) Plumbing (leaks, fittings, minor repairs) Carpentry (repairs, fittings, adjustments) Painting and general upkeep Minor building and repair work Respond to ad-hoc maintenance issues promptly Maintain a safe, clean, and functional working environment Compliance & Safety Checks Complete scheduled maintenance and compliance checks using the MaintainX app Conduct fire door inspections to ensure compliance Carry out fire alarm and emergency lighting checks Perform Legionella water temperature checks Complete fire safety checks including extinguishers and evacuation routes Ensure all compliance records are accurately completed and maintained Health & Safety Responsibilities Identify, report, and address any hazards or risks Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with regulations Support and uphold company health & safety procedures Maintain records of all maintenance and compliance activities for auditing purposes Requirements Proven experience in maintenance, facilities, or handyman roles Multi-skilled across areas such as electrics, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs Good understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements Ability to work independently and manage own workload Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Reliable, flexible, and able to respond to urgent maintenance needs Relevant qualifications or certifications (electrical/plumbing) Own insurance is desirable Benefits Free lunch provided daily Free on-site parking On-site gym access Employee Assistance Programme for mental health and financial wellbeing Friendly, supportive working environment with team lunches, bake-offs and social events Hours: Zero hour Bank / Ad-Hoc Break: 1 hour unpaid lunch break Rate: £18.00 per hour
