Location: Randox Science Park (30 Randalstown Road, Antrim, BT41 4LF).
Contract Offered: Full-time, permanent
Working Hours / Shifts: 8.40am to 5.20pm, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required.
Role Overview:
This role oversees the operational and laboratory functions within the Randox Clinical Laboratory Services. Key duties include:
1. Ensuring all laboratory testing for clinical diagnostics and trials is conducted accurately according to SOPs and in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, ISOIEC 15189, GCP, and MHRA standards.
2. Collaborating with Quality Personnel to ensure effective collection and testing procedures meet regulatory and international standards.
3. Reviewing IQC & EQA performance across all instruments and taking remedial actions when deviations occur.
4. Meeting deadlines and turnaround times for all projects.
5. Providing technical advice on diagnostic testing and clinical trial sample analysis.
6. Performing daily quality control checks to meet internal and external criteria.
7. Supervising laboratory staff, including appraisals and training.
8. Reviewing and trending analytical data for patient results.
9. Evaluating laboratory capacity to improve efficiency.
10. Maintaining sample integrity at all times.
11. Writing SOPs and Work Instructions.
12. Liaising with clients to ensure excellent service.
13. Guiding and approving new test method development in line with regulations.
Who can apply?
Essential criteria:
* Degree in Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Immunology, or related Life Science.
* Experience in diagnostic testing and reagent applications.
* Previous laboratory experience.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Leadership skills and self-motivation.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Desirable:
* Managerial experience.
* Experience managing a laboratory.
* Experience in a clinical testing laboratory.
* Knowledge of quality systems and health & safety regulations, including CoSHH.
