Overview
This role is suitable for Registered Nurses who have completed preceptorship and are registered as an approved NMC mentor. The post holder will deliver, or advise on the delivery of, high quality safe nursing care, ensuring consistently high standards of practice and clinical excellence in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct.
The post holder will provide community-based assessment, treatment, and care for people aged 18–65 who have a history of offending and who have mental health needs. The role aims to provide a flexible, responsive and pro-active programme of care and support for service users and their carers.
You will be required to develop and maintain links across a wide variety of statutory and non-statutory organisations such as Probation, MAPPA, social services, Jigsaw, Hostels and other voluntary and non-voluntary services. You will also be involved in specialist mental health assessments and the application of evidence-based psychosocial interventions.
Responsibilities
* Work as a member of a borough-based Forensic Community Team and manage a reasonable caseload of clients with offending history and mental health problems.
* Deliver or advise on the delivery of high-quality safe nursing care and maintain high standards of practice and clinical excellence in accordance with the NMC code.
* Carry out community-based assessments, provide treatment and care for adults with offending histories and mental health needs.
* Develop and maintain links with statutory and non-statutory organisations (e.g., Probation, MAPPA, social services, Jigsaw, Hostels) and other services to support service users.
* Participate in specialist mental health assessments and apply evidence-based psychosocial interventions.
* Contribute to flexible, responsive and pro-active programmes of care for service users and carers.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (RN) with successful completion of preceptorship.
* Registered as an approved NMC mentor.
