As part of their commitment to excellence, they are seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Project Manager to oversee refurbishment projects at their Bromborough Factory. Position Overview:
The Civil Engineer will be responsible for managing refurbishment projects at the factory facilities, with a primary focus on supporting civil activities, floor repair projects, drainage modifications and repairs, roof repairs, and painting throughout the premises. The incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring that all activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Support/Planning: Support on refurbishment projects from inception to completion, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management.
2. Civil Activities: Coordinate and supervise civil engineering activities such as foundation repairs, structural modifications, and concrete work to ensure structural integrity and safety.
3. Floor Repair Projects: Manage and execute floor repair projects, including concrete resurfacing, crack repairs, and surface leveling, to maintain a safe and functional working environment.
4. Drainage Modification and Repair: Plan and implement modifications and repairs to drainage systems to prevent water accumulation, ensure proper drainage, and mitigate the risk of water damage.
5. Roof Repair: Oversee roof repair projects, including patching leaks, replacing damaged roofing materials, and reinforcing roof structures to maintain a watertight and secure facility.
6. Painting: Coordinate painting projects, including surface preparation, application of coatings, and quality assurance, to enhance aesthetics and protect structural components from corrosion and deterioration.
7. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all refurbishment activities comply with relevant regulatory standards, building codes, environmental regulations, and safety requirements.
8. Quality Assurance: Verify the quality of workmanship and materials used in refurbishment projects, conduct inspections, and address any deficiencies or deviations from specifications.
9. Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including facilities management, engineering teams, and production personnel, to minimize disruptions and coordinate project activities effectively.
10. Contractor Management: Select, evaluate, and manage external contractors and vendors involved in refurbishment projects, ensuring adherence to project requirements, timelines, and quality standards.
11. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, specifications, progress reports, and budgetary records, and provide regular updates to senior management on project status, milestones, and challenges.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required; Master's degree preferred. Proven experience in civil engineering project management, preferably in the food manufacturing or industrial sector. Strong technical knowledge and understanding of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and building materials. Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards related to building construction, safety, and environmental compliance. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with external contractors and vendors. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality assurance and compliance. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
