Operations Manager | Parklands Leisure Centre Permanent, Full Time 40 hours Salary £ 28,661 The Operations Manager position is a key position in the Company. Carrying out continuous customer and staff relations services, the position provides the postholder with a genuinely rewarding experience and provides a springboard to a leisure management career in one of the most attractive and fast growing leisure management companies. Primary Objectives To ensure the highest possible standards of Health and Safety and customer care within the Centre. To develop and promote an exciting, innovative leisure programme to increase the usage and profitability of the Centre. To assume shift management responsibility for the centre to maximise total performance and maintain the highest standards of customer care. To assist the Centre Manager in financial planning and budget setting to maximise the profitability of the business. To organise and manage the Duty Manager team in the absence of the Centre Manager. Key Responsibilities Day to Day Focus Deputise for the Centre Manager as requested and act as a member of the Leisure Centre Management Team on a shift rota system during opening hours. Ensure the Centre is consistently provided as a clean, high-quality facility with exciting, innovative services, and that all Health and Safety procedures are carried out at all times. Drive revenue, control expenditure, and implement appropriate financial systems and procedures to achieve monthly targets. This includes being responsible and accountable for cash handling. Manage teaching and coaching courses for all areas of the operation, including the recruitment and maintenance of a register of qualified coaches, and achieving maximum participation in all activities. Identify and assess the feasibility of new activities and assist in the marketing and publicity of all activities and events. Assist the Centre Manager, Contract Manager in providing appropriate staff training and development, conducting regular team meetings to drive service standards. Act as a main key holder for the Centre, responsible for opening and closing the building, and emergency call-outs. Assist in the management of the Centre's quality assurance systems and procedures, and undertake any required regulatory requirements. The Candidate Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills First Aid at Work Qualification and National Pool Lifeguard Qualification NPLQ recognised qualification in Leisure Management, Sports Development, or a related subject. Knowledge and skills gained in the Leisure or a related industry, preferably within a small, medium sized enterprise. Recognised Pool Plant Operators qualification is desirable or must be obtained within a set period if not currently held. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to both listen and direct at different levels of the organisation. Clear identification with all customer requirements. Commitment to maintaining good employee relations and delivering quality training. Flexibility to meet the demands of the role by working additional hours when required, including the ability to perform recreation assistant duties as necessary.
