Senior IT Business Analyst (Agile) – Energy Sector
Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office)
Contract: 6 months (with potential extension)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior IT Business Analyst to join a large-scale digital transformation programme within the energy sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a data-focused initiative aimed at enhancing analytics, reporting, and cloud-based capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Gather, analyse and translate business requirements into clear functional and non-functional specifications
* Assess current processes, systems, and data flows to identify improvement opportunities
* Develop strong business cases and support prioritisation and funding decisionsWork closely with stakeholders, Product Owners, and technical teams to deliver solutions aligned to business needs
* Lead stakeholder workshops and design sessions
* Ensure full traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle
* Define and coordinate testing, including creation of acceptance criteria
* Support Agile delivery and promote Agile best practices across stakeholders
* Provide leadership and direction on Business Analysis activities across the project
Key Requirements
* 7–10 years’ experience as an IT Business Analyst
* Strong experience working in Agile environments (frameworks, tools, and ways of working)
* Proven ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders
* Experience in data-heavy or system transformation projects
* Strong documentation and requirement gathering skills
* Experience leading Business Analysis activities and small teams
* Degree in IT or related discipline
* Previous energy sector experience is essential
* Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile certifications
