Job Title: SEN Teacher (ASD - Primary & Secondary)
Location: Warwick, Warwickshire
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and experienced SEN Teacher to join our dedicated team in Warwick. The role involves teaching a small group of Primary and Secondary-aged students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a supportive and nurturing environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' educational journeys, empowering them to develop the skills, confidence, and independence they need to succeed.

As an SEN Teacher, you will tailor your teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of each student, delivering differentiated lessons that support academic progress, social and emotional development, and communication skills. You will work closely with teaching assistants, parents, and external professionals to create a fully inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with ASD across Primary and Secondary age groups.

Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress against set goals.

Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment that supports students in managing sensory and social challenges.

Use a range of teaching strategies, including visual supports, sensory activities, and social communication tools to support diverse learning styles.

Provide targeted support for students to develop key social, emotional, and life skills, including communication and behaviour management.

Collaborate with the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student's development.

Maintain regular communication with parents and carers, providing updates on progress and strategies for supporting learning at home.

Contribute to whole-school initiatives for inclusion and create an atmosphere of respect and understanding.

Adhere to safeguarding practices and promote the well-being of all students.

The Ideal Candidate:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

A sound understanding of the primary and secondary curriculum and how it can be adapted to meet the needs of students with ASD.

Experience working with students with ASD and other complex needs in an educational setting.

Knowledge and experience of using strategies like TEACCH, PECS, or ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) is highly desirable.

A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt lessons to meet individual student needs.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.

Experience of creating and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and differentiating instruction.

An understanding of the importance of sensory and environmental considerations in supporting students with ASD.

Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the ability to create a safe and supportive environment for students.

Why Join Us?

A welcoming, supportive school community that prioritises inclusion, well-being, and personal development.

Small class sizes, allowing for tailored and individualised teaching.

Opportunities for ongoing professional development, including training in the latest SEN strategies and autism-specific approaches.

A competitive salary and benefits package based on experience.

A chance to work with a passionate team of professionals dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of students with ASD.

A positive, inclusive environment where your contribution will be highly valued.
