The Opportunity
This is a standout opportunity to join a growing business delivering cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Scotland, with a key site based near Falkirk and additional support to projects in Shetland.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of commercial and contractual delivery across live projects. You will be fully site-based, embedded within the delivery team, gaining hands-on experience and accelerating your development through real project exposure.
We are open to candidates from Assistant QS through to established QS level. What matters most is your attitude, drive and willingness to learn. In return, you will benefit from a clear 12-month progression plan into a more senior role.

Key Responsibilities
* Support and manage cost control, forecasting and budgeting across projects
* Assist with Applications for Payment, valuations and cash tracking
* Monitor project costs, accruals and WIP to ensure accurate reporting
* Support subcontractor management, including assessment and payments
* Assist with variations, claims and cost recovery processes
* Ensure contract administration is managed in line with requirements
* Work closely with procurement and delivery teams to maintain commercial alignment
* Build strong working relationships on site and contribute to project success
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
* Strong grounding in commercial delivery and cost management principles
* Exposure to valuations, payments and financial reporting
* Understanding of subcontractor management and contract processes
* Good knowledge of variations and claims
* Strong communication skills and confidence working on site
* Proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership and work independently
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar (or equivalent experience)
Desirable
* Working towards or achieved RICS/CICES accreditation
* Experience within infrastructure, utilities, energy or BESS projects
* Familiarity with CVR, cost-to-complete and end cost forecasting
* Understanding of milestone-based payments
* Experience working in complex or multi-site environments
