Band 6 Practice Educator Infection Prevention and Control
The post holder will be expected to liaise appropriately with all key members of the multi-disciplinary team. In addition, the post holder will be required to liaise with peers across the Trust, Matrons, divisional management teams, and appropriate corporate divisions and teams. The post holder will also liaise with colleagues external to the Trust and national networks relevant to the specialty.
Main duties of the job
To assist in providing an autonomous infection prevention and control nursing service using clinical judgement and knowledge of the specialty. To take responsibility for own evidence-based practice, implementing and contributing to the body of knowledge supporting nursing practice within infection prevention and control. To support innovation in nursing practice in infection prevention and control both within the Trust and through local networks. To assist in the development of all staff within the multidisciplinary team, providing support, advice, and formal and informal education.

Person Specification
Education
* Appropriate teaching certificate/qualification, e.g., Mentorship and/or preceptorship, teaching and assessing
* Extensive teaching experience
* Evidence of ongoing personal development
* Willingness to work towards degree-level education/modules in infection prevention and control
Experience
* Understanding of clinical risk, clinical governance, and national benchmarks
* Experience with preceptorship, mentorship, and staff development
* Appreciation of research and ability to influence through research findings
* Knowledge of IPC national frameworks
* Participation in audits and promotion of evidence-based practice
* IT literacy in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet use
* Ability to contribute to policies and clinical protocols
* Understanding of effective staff deployment and budget management
Skills
* Ability to work independently on designated projects and as part of a team
* Understanding of role competencies and awareness of personal and team boundaries
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Salary: £44,485 to £52,521 per annum, including HCAS.
