The Parish of St Luke’s, Battersea, has a long and vibrant musical tradition with music at the heart of our worship. We are now seeking an enthusiastic Director of Junior Choir and Assistant Organist to join our team and help shape the next generation of young singers.
Junior Choir Director (ages 7-14 years)
* Re-establish and direct the Junior Choir to sing regularly at Sunday services during term time.
* Inspire and nurture young people’s musical skills in a supportive, faith-filled environment.
* Plan and lead rehearsals, developing repertoire appropriate to their voices and liturgy.
Assistant Organist
* Support the Director of Music, Derek Carden, in services and rehearsals.
* Accompany choirs and congregational singing on an organ and piano.
* Conduct the adult choir when required.
What We’re Looking For
* A talented and inspirational choral conductor with excellent keyboard skills.
* Experience working with young singers and encouraging their musical growth.
* Organisational skills, enthusiasm and the ability to work collaboratively.
* Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undertake the necessary checks.
Terms
* Salary: according to experience
* 6-week holiday per annum
* Hours and rehearsal schedule to be agreed.
